Classes

We sometimes have other artists contact us to see if there is any interest in different classes they could offer in our studio. Let us know - what would you like to try? Painting? Drawing? Multi-media mosaicing? Scrapbooking? Basket weaving? Beading? Jewelry making? Raku? When is a good time? Mornings? Evenings?

Glass Fusing Class
Learn the basics of glass fusing and create a pendant and/or earrings. This class is required before attending Tuesday night Glass Fusing sessions. This class is offered every third Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Register ahead to be assured teh class is being held. Call if there is another time you and at least two other friends would like to have a class offered. $15 - $20. Once you have taken the class, come in anytime to create more fused pieces.

Clay Classes
All clay classes include firing and glazing for one piece. Students return about a week after the class is held to glaze their piece. Classes can be taken more than once, with content adapted to the level of the student.

Wheel Throwing Clay Classes (Call to schedule)
Wheel Throwing Experience (Individual or Group) - offered for adults and kids who want to try throwing on the wheel. One two-hour session. Great idea for someone deciding whether to take a class. $25.00, includes throwing, firing and glazing for one piece. GREAT IDEA FOR A PARTY, TOO!

Wheel Throwing (Individual Class, over age 12 only please) - Learn the basics of wheel throwing, one on one. Includes centering, cylinder and bowl shapes. Two two-hour sessions. $60.00, includes clay, free wheel time for three weeks, firing and glazing for one piece.

Hand Building Clay Classes (No classes are currently scheduled - let us know if you are interested)

Introduction to Hand Building (Group Class) - An introductory course covering the basics of working with clay (e.g., wedging.). Includes a variety of hand building tools, pinching, methods for adding texture, and building with slabs and coils.
Two two-hour sessions. $50.00, includes clay, firing and glazing for one piece.

Hand Building Projects (Group Class) - For anyone who has experience and wants to continue in a teaching setting. Each class will be designed towards the creation of a specific piece. One two-hour session. $30.00, includes clay, firing and glazing for one piece.

Play With Clay -- Just for Kids! Children's classes are geared toward the creation of a specific piece (e.g., a pinch pot animal, tray, mug, mask or sea serpent.) During the class a variety of fundamental clay-working skills specific to the piece will be covered.
One two-hour session. $25.00, includes clay, firing and glazing for one piece.
